What is spiritualism? It is a belief that spirits of the dead communicates with the living, usually through a medium. It also refers to persons who communicate with evil spirits.

Saul "perceived" that it was Samuel (verse 14). But it was not God's righteous servant.
Only God have power to resurrect. When Saul went into the grave he was a man that everybody could see. What the woman brought up only she could see. It was not Samuel's spirit either. When a person dies, his spirit goes to God who gave it. He holds it in His possession until the resurrection day when He will again restore that spirit or breath back to you.

There is a movement that is taking America by storm; they are called psychic. They are everywhere. You turn to the prevue channel on television and they are advertising them. They have bought time on many television stations. They seem to be a mixture of fortune-tellers and sorcerers; but they are more dangerous than them both, because in former times these people deny Christ and the Bible; But now they profess to accept both. What is amazing, is the large amount of people going after the psychic. They are telling them everything they want to know, from the fate of their dead loved ones, to marriage, wealth and future events.

He is the only one who knows the future and He will unfold it to you step by step as He sees fit. This is where faith and trust comes in. If you have the right connection with God, you don't have to fear the future, for no matter what happens to you, He is there with you. Nothing happens to the child of God without a good purpose. The problem with mankind is that they want to know things before it is God's will to reveal it to them. But these witches, wizards and psychics can't help you. They are not connected to God, so how could they know God's will for you? When Saul went to the witch of Endor, did the spirit the witch divined up tell him anything new? No! 1 Samuel 28:15-19. That spirit that spoke in the name of Samuel was a very intelligent spirit. He made sure he reiterated what the Lord had already told Saul, so he - the spirit- would not look bad.

We also have, (especially in the Bahamas), these people who pray for you for a price. Have you ever heard anyone ever praying for money in Bible times? People who do such things are not connected to God. They are of the devil. They pray good and bad prayers. Some people even go to them to pray for evil to befall other people. Flee such people my friend.
There was a man in the New Testament named Simon who taught that God's Holy Spirit and power could be bought with money. Do you remember what happened to him? He was severely rebuked, and he had to ask Peter to pray to the Lord for him that none of those things he said would happen to him would come to pass. Acts 8:13-21.

Another movement afoot in this part of the world is "chain letters". Somebody would send a letter to you and tell you to send a copy of that letter to a certain number of people, or something bad would happen to you or your family. They would even give experiences of evil things that have happened to people who did not obey the request. The amazing thing is that even so call Christian people are involved in these sort of things. Friend, don't put your trust or faith in such things. I remember getting one such letter some years ago, and while I was tearing it up I was saying aloud, "my trust is in God, He is the ruler of my life, and nothing can happen to me without His permission. I am going to die anyway, When I die, I want to be on God's side." I did not even dignify the letter by throwing it in my garbage. I carried it outside and threw it in the bushes. We did have sicknesses and deaths in our family: Is there any credit to Satan for forecasting it? No way! Satan already knew the extent the Lord would give him over my family; therefore he was able to work through his agents to make it appear that they have power of themselves to do these things. Friend, the devil and his agents can go no further than God allow them. They don't have any true information that God did not give them.
Jesus said that in the last days there would arise false Christ and false prophets, and that Satan and his ministers would be transformed into angels of light: Matthew 24:24; 2 Corinthians 11:14-15.

15. What warning did God give His people so that they would not be deceived. What this is saying is that we should test people according to the Word of God. If what they say or do is not in accordance with His Word; there is no light in them, they are not representatives of God.

Friend, our trust should be in God. We should not want to be led in no other way than He is leading us right now. If we are connected to Him, we should not desire to know nothing more about our future than He is revealing to us at any particular moment. He knows just how much we can bear. So He unrolls the scroll of our lives and our family lives according to what we can bear. If He had revealed all at once the events that occurred in the life of my family and I during the past several years, I probably would have been crushed by the weight and might have died long ago. That is why He unrolls the scroll bit by bit. Each scene in our life is to prepare us for the next one. Satan's desire is to draw multitudes to his side by his pretended power to draw aside the veil from the future and reveal to men what God has hidden. But God has in His word already opened before us the great events of the future, He has revealed all that is essential for us to know, and He has given us a safe guide for our feet amid all its perils; All we need to do is trust in God and stay connected to Him, and He will lead us and guide us according to His will for us.
